Exporting labour force to Czechoslovakia in 1947

Summary/Abstract: In this survey, we attempt to render clear some matters about 8000 Romanian farming labourers to Czechoslovakia in 1947. The provisions of the agreement between the two governments have been analyzed as well as the restrictive steps taken by the Romanian authorities in order to obstruct the communist regime opponents to leave the country. The hard working conditions, most of the Romanian labourers had to endure, determined some of them to leave the farms where they were working and return home earlier the date the contract ended up.
