Summary/Abstract: The genealogical research undertaken by the author of these lines is based on the civil status of Bucharest, as well as on the oral testimony of several relatives of Ion Antonescu's alliance. Thus I was able to reconstruct her three-generation direct ascendance, linked to the Delea Noua slum, located in the southeastern part of Bucharest. Ion Antonescu was the son of the officer Iancu Antonescu, son of "Anton sin Vasile postăvaru" and of the Sultan, the prototype of Barbu Ştefănescu Delavrancea's literary character "Sultănica", a neighbor of the Antonescu family on Călăraşi Street. It is a family of senior officers linked to the Royal Palace: Dimitrie and Ilie Antonescu, brothers of Ion Antonescu's father, were aides of Carol I and Ferdinand. Ion Antonescu's wife, Maria Antonescu, born Niculescu, was also the daughter of a colonel. It is also worth mentioning the patronage exercised by Ion Antonescu and his wife in the ecclesiastical field: they built several churches in the capital and made important donations to them
