Summary/Abstract: The article deals with issues of tourism policy of the European Union and selected countries in the dissemination of tourist mobility of EU citizens, especially selected social groups. Indicators of tourist activity of societies of EU countries vary widely. EU policy focuses on activation of tourism selected social groups: children and youth, seniors, people with disabilities. Domestic policies also affect social groups with low material status, reducing the tourist exclusion. In economically developed countries it recognized that tourism should be a public good. The actions of the EU and member states allow impact on economic growth, thanks to better use of tourist facilities, which in many countries is characterized by a high level of seasonality. Tourism is therefore a significant impact on the macro- and micro-economic and the labor market, revenues of the tourism industry and the income of employees in tourism businesses. Thanks runs multiplier effects in the economy. The aim of this article is to present the role of the EU Member States in the tourism economy, through the tasks related to the impact on tourist demand, affecting the universal access to tourism.
