Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to define preferences of Poles according renewable, conventional and nuclear energy as a strategic solution for Polish economy. The research methods encompasses cluster analysis and logistic regression. The results showed that Polish citizens can be divided into four groups: renewable and nuclear energy supporters, renewable and conventional energy supporters, renewable, nuclear and conventional energy supporters, undecided supporters of renewable and conventional energy. The support for conventional energy most often excludes support for nuclear energy whereas renewable energy sources are widely accepted. These beliefs depend on education and interest in energy ecological issues. Higher cognitive skills (as a function of education and interest in energy-ecological issues) reduce the perceived risk of nuclear energy and enhance the perceived risk of conventional energy.
