Summary/Abstract: Depletion of cheap pro-growth resources tends to search for new factors to generate socioeconomic development. Social capital is one of the main determinants of community resource development success. Social capital refers to the trust, activity and cooperation. This article aims to analyze the level of activity of rural West Pomerania province as an important determinant of development processes of each community. The importance of activity implies a need to analyze the levels, trends and identify the source of this activity. Research organized in rural West Pomeranian province showed a level of activity in communities larger is lower than in smaller ones. The more trust is implies a greater involvement in the case of the local community.
