Summary/Abstract: Modeled for politico-military realities that began to change in the last decade of the last century, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization was made in the face of new challenges. In order to demonstrate the credibility of and attachment to values they defend its establishment, but also to effectively manage the new risks and threats specific to the post-cold war period, NATO initiated a profound process of adaptation to the new conditions.
