Summary/Abstract: One of the issues concerning the grammatical category of Russian verb voice is the irreversibility of active constructions, i.e., the impossibility to pasivize active constructions. The main role among reasons of irreversibility is played by lexical semantics. The possibility to be passivized can be restricted by certain lexical meanings of verbs, by weakening of their lexical meaning, by their use in metaphoric meaning and by usage of colloquial or non standard verbs. Grammatical factors influencing irreversibility are also important. They can be devided into morfological and syntactic ones.
