Summary/Abstract: This paper is an assessment of the words contained in the texts with common subjects in Arabic and Turkish mother tongue teaching textbooks in terms of collocational patterning, which is the research topic and a method of linguistics. Textbooks for primary school grades two and three as published by Turkish Ministry of National Education were compared with the textbooks for grades two and three, which are used in the primary schools of Libya, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon. During this assessment, according to the world of concepts presented, identification of similar and dissimilar aspects between selected Arabic countries, ruled under different political regimes in addition to identification of similar and dissimilar aspects between these Arabic countries and Turkey, was aimed in the context of such common texts.
