Teaching of Writing

Summary/Abstract: In foreign language teaching, writing skill composes the last pillar of four essential language skills. In language teaching, written communication is as important as the verbal communication and we have to take into consideration the development of this skill at least as much as teaching of speaking. For this reason, we tried to explain the activities before writing, during writing and after writing by emphasizing the significance of teaching of writing. We mentioned about the controlled, guided and free types of writing. We explained the types of exercises oriented to ameliorate the writing skill by giving examples of writing exercises from the Taxi 1 French method book..
