Summary/Abstract: The service of women in the armed forces of different countries requires dedication and overcoming obstacles resulting from stereotypical ways of thinking which often limit women’s access to the highest posts in the Army. Opponents of women’s presence in the military rely on the lower female standards in physical performance in recruitment and selection processes. Today, the number of jobs open to women in the armed forces depends on the country. Although women in the Army usually serve as doctors and psychologists, more and more of them are moving into once male-dominated jobs. Women in the armed forces share common values and beliefs – a sense of adventure and a desire to follow their passions.
