Summary/Abstract: The article concerns the problem of functioning the simplified procedures to amend the Treaty on European Union and the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union in national law. The introduction of these procedures required to develop appropriate mechanisms for their practical realization. The Author presents an assessment of the issue from the point of view of Polish law and solutions adopted in the United Kingdom. The establishment of national regulations concerning this issue involves the need to reconcile the interests of the Union with the constitutional requirements of individual member states. In Poland, these regulations are not precise. On the other hand, in the United Kingdom they disavow the very concept of simplified procedures to a large extent.
