Axiology of Compound Names of Body Parts in the Text

Summary/Abstract: The main idea of the article is substantiated by the affirmation, that the generalities and differences of manner of thinking, culture and public standards, attitudes and assessment “subsist” in axiological units of a language. Investigation of lexical units establishes specific image of the world and fixed assessment in speakers’ consciousness. The object of the article – the concept BODY, which can be represented by compounds. The underlying word consists of the names of body parts. It was estimated, that the names of body parts are related to the names of an animal, form, size, material, person, color, temperature, number. Metaphorical interaction of compound names of body parts determines their axiological aspects. It was estimated that one type of generality is proper to both types of compounds: axiological aspect of the names of body parts is determined not by the name of a body part, but by another qualifier. The aspect of the assessment of a compound can depend on the situation, which is determined by the experience of a certain linguistic community.
