Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the issues of marine insurance broking in the light of the proposed amendments of the EU regulations. The proposed revisions to the Insurance Mediation Directive, called IMD2, imply far-reaching changes in the insurance brokerage market due to the extension of the scope of channels allowing to access a customer. The biggest controversy concerns the proposal to introduce the obligation to reveal the amount of remuneration of intermediaries, which expresses the idea of transparency. Undertaking the attempt to answer the question about the legitimacy of the proposed revisions in general and of the individual responsibilities, the attention has been drawn to the solutions adopted in the jurisdictions of the selected Member States.
