Summary/Abstract: The preschool education system in Russia is changing significantly in terms of content and organization. Management activities of the director are determined by the requirements of new law “About the Education in the Russian Federation”, the Federal State educational standard for preschool education, and the requirements of the professional standards of teachers in preschool education. The modern manager must know the basis of the management activities; organize the work of the preschool in accordance with its laws. Management efficiency depends on the degree of qualification of the leader in the field of management and on the success of the methodical work with teachers as subjects of teaching. The modernization of preschool educational institutions, the increase of their autonomy level requires new approaches to the management of kindergartens.
