Summary/Abstract: The ongoing crisis has reduced the degree of the financial integration of markets, both globally and within the EU. Along with the unification of law at EU level, the European regulatory framework for banks has been remodeled. A new architecture of financial supervision, which has been created, is an important element of the autonomous legal order, which influences the transition from the common market to the single market as a higher stage of the integration development. Maritime legal culture is considered to serve as the basis for the development of the concept of the single market. Undoubtedly, the financial stability is a prerequisite for the growth and integration of the financial market in the EU. The protection of this global public good at the supranational level forces the perception of the regulation and supervision of banks in the perspective of the single market - unified supervision – unified network of financial security.
