Summary/Abstract: The subject of this paper is representation of children in the media, in this case the daily press in Serbia. In a modern society childhood is emphasized as period of human life that has been changed completely, with children becoming „worse“, while too little is spoken about changing information surroundings, that necessarily has an impact on them as much as on the rest of society. Media create dominant pictures of today’s children but they also influence the overall way that society relates to children. The aim of this paper is to show how Serbia’s press represents them in order question weather we are witnessing the emergence of new, different children or their well created, but unreal media representation.
