Polish dictionaries for NooJ

Summary/Abstract: This article presents current progress on the work towards compiling Polish dictionaries in the NooJ platform. The program uses the dictionaries and the so-called “local grammars”. Not only does the NooJ allow to perform various research tasks, but it is also useful in university courses. It may serve as an introduction to the issues closely related to linguistics while expanding students’ computational abilities. The work is carried out by students of the Romance Philology Departments in Warsaw and Białystok universities. The article describes the theoretical assumptions underlying the dictionaries and the current progress of the project (as of mid-September 2013). It also presents examples of local grammars.
