Summary/Abstract: Research of the Paleolithic period in Bosnia and Herzegovina almost fell into oblivion after the death of Đuro Basler, an archaeologists from the National Museum and former president of the Speleological Society "Bosansko-hercegovački krš" from Sarajevo. After his works, a few papers were published on the Paleolithic period in BiH which about distribution of culture in Middle and Upper Paleolithic cannot say much more than what he has already written. During the last twenty years, on various occasions, especially during the speleological research, a large number of sites from the Upper Paleolithic Period or stone industry findings was revealed, whose cultural background is hard to define. These findings indicate that the Upper Paleolithic culture penetrated far north (Tajan area) than it was previously known. On the other hand, the latest finding from the Middle Paleolithic Period in headwaters of river Krivaja move the line of the Middle Paleolithic of Northern Bosnia (around Usora and Spreča) a lot further south to Central Bosnia.
