Summary/Abstract: The paper draws the attention of the academic community, policy makers and policy development to a new approach to natural and other values of the BiH space. Rethinking the economic geography of Bosnia and Herzegovina focusing on the caves and there possibilities of putting in context of local economic development. The first is the comparison of global, European and regional experiences related to the valorization of tourist caves. It is based on conclusion about the attractiveness speleotourism as a specific form of tourism. The second is an analysis of the caves as a potential speleotouristic facility in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with focus on the basic attributes of attractive location in the main traffic routes, larger agglomerations of population to natural and cultural values of objects. Further research attention can be concentrate to specific locations, their SWOT analysis and other aspects there activation. The results could be used in defining the strategy for tourism development and strategies of local economic development.
