Summary/Abstract: The material for this paper was collected during the period from 1997 to 2014, and it includes about thirty tales and one legend. Historical traditions prevail, and most of them are about the legendary chieftain Mijat Tomić, the suffering of Croatian people and about Diva Grabovčeva. The historical traditions are interpreted in historical, archaeological and archival context. The etiologic traditions are interpreted in ethnological and anthropological context whereas the legend is interpreted in the biblical context. All the traditions are cited originally. Some of the mentioned tellers, both female and male, have passed away. A huge amount of the immaterial cultural heritage is forever hidden underground. The originally cited traditions and legends contain philological, ethnological, anthropological and historical treasure. Traditions and legends are exceptionally important for the identity of nations and of the whole humanity.
