Summary/Abstract: Vuk Drašković by his orator's appearance marked the Serbian political rhetoric of the unfortunate 1990s. Thus he can be given the title of the King of Streets and Squares. By his over-elaborate style, full of epic metaphors, and symbols he introduced something new and fresh in the political scene of Serbian post-communism. Vuk knew how to say what an average Serbian listener wanted to hear, that is the old arch-type covered with dust. In a time full of repression, divisions, moral and economic crises, Drašković knew how to spice a speech with the right measure of impression which will move the masses, stereotypes and influence the political maturity of a spiritually barren nation. This process went very slowly, according to many estimations went badly with interruptions. However, it remains that Drašković's contribution on this road was very significant.
