Summary/Abstract: Dominykas Budrikas (1798-1873) is the translator of Namu kriêius, a book that supports the teetotalism movement organized by the Lithuanian bishop Motiejus Valanèius. The language of the translation is traditional Highland Lithuanian with some elements of the Lowland Lithuanian dialect. Despite the translator's conscious intentions and efforts to write in the Highland Lithuanian dialect, he maintains many original Lowland forms, thereby showing his Lowland Lithuanian origin.
