Summary/Abstract: The article dwells upon some less-studied texts of the Slavic folk culture which have a common interpretative function: to explain the aim of the magical rites or the necessity to follow restrictions; to spell out the meaning of the prognostic signs encoded; to give a mythological explanation to the events happening in the world.
