Summary/Abstract: Paradigmatic change is a feature of the present time and it is also present in the life of the person with special education needs. The change concerns redefinition of the notion of „disability”, a linguistic phrase and verification of attitudes towards otherness. The need for a post – modern perception of a person with disability has engendered new categories of humanistic pedagogy, seen not from the angle of the person's weaknesses but through discovering their potential and strength. The idea of equal opportunities for the disabled requires many changes in the sphere of social life, in which language and relation as humanistic categories play a role of no small importance. This article discusses the issue of cooperation, interpersonal and interinstitutional relation in actions aimed at providing aid, support, comprehension and emancipation of children. Seeking an optimal model of local cooperation is a subject upon which theoretical analyses together with the article author’s experiences are focused.
