Summary/Abstract: The article refers to the phenomenon of the dissemination of financial logic in the management of joint stock companies, which basic activities are conducted outside the financial sector. This phenomenon has been observed in the United States since the eighties of the twentieth century and is also confirmed in the European Union, some Polish companies operating across borders included. Non-financial corporations are increasingly interested in profits derived from financial assets, financial institutions alike. The article reviews literature in purpose to draw attention to new problems of control which result from the change mentioned in the title. In case of non-financial corporations undergoing the change controlling by financial institutions becomes elusive and illusory.
