Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the term ‘money’ which covers a huge semantic group of the related lexicon in the field of economics. The terms as special lexical items that belong to the semantic group of ‘money’ may have the same or nearly the same, or even expanded description of the meaning in the special dictionaries of English and Lithuanian. Where as the composition specificities and the origin of the terms in reference to the functional variation of the national language are based on standard requirements. The investigation suggests the comparative study of the semantic group of the term “money” in regard to the characteristics of the meaning, origin, and composition that are found in some senses from typological, semantic, and structural perspectives.
