Summary/Abstract: This paper emphasizes on the importance of the ability to communicate as a significant part of the soft skills dimension for future software engineers. It presents some theoretical considerations, workforce expectations for graduates in their future eventual jobs, and practical examples of teaching professional communications at university level. In this paper we illustrate examples taken from the world universities' best practices and our informatics curricula and teaching practice in the Computer Science bachelor degree program at New Bulgarian University (NBU). The paper describes the importance of designing a good software project for students. In addition to the technical criteria, the professor should emphasize the importance of effective communication between the key players - manager, team members and stakeholders in the grading rubric.
