Summary/Abstract: Proofs can appear in all mathematical courses at university level – algebra, geometry, calculus, etc. Students are afraid of proofs because they have not been shown the simple methods of how to do it – the traditional way and using computer systems. This paper presents an attempt to teach students the main mathematical proof techniques such as examining all cases, contradiction, counterexample, mathematical induction, indirect proof with the aid of the software system Mathematica.
