Summary/Abstract: Į skaitytojų rankas atiduodamas 54-asis žurnalo Darbai ir dienos tomas tam tikra prasme išskirtinis. The 54th volume of Deeds and Days in a certain sense is exceptional. It is unusual not because it is either better or worse than the earlier volumes, but because it is different. This is clearly seen from the contents. Normally, the journal is structured so that the central component of the volume is the monograph part, which is, as a rule, devoted to a discussion of a particular scholarly issue, contemplating on a specific aspect of the problem. The texts that are included represent different areas of the humanities, in which case an analytical kaleidoscop of reflections readily embraces insights from neighbouring social disciplines. Such an approach to the structure of the volume, on the one hand, is instrumental in maintaining the diversity of the interdisciplinary character of the journal and, on the other, serves as an effective tool for focusing on an important topic of an obscure world. This present volume, however, is not structured around a monographic part; instead, the reader is offered a bundle of texts of a diverse character.
