Summary/Abstract: The requirements of a modern organisation are becoming prerequisites for processes to improve recruitment and selection, as well as for the induction of new employees. Improvement becomes necessary for those aspects of human resources management that currently exist at an inadequate level, and which should be improved. There is a necessity, therefore, to introduce principles into recruitment and selection that are based on competency, especially for key positions. The State Forests National Forest Holding, the largest forestry management organisation in the European Union, was chosen as a blueprint for analysing the processes involved in the recruitment and selection of candidates and the induction of employees. The goal of this development was set to define the activities undertaken during employee selection and the procedures proposed for the recruitment and selection of staff. The possibility of improving the employee recruitment process with particular regard to the position of Forest Inspector is highlighted.Development may constitute a valuable source of information for improving the recruitment and selection processes, as well as for the induction of employees, not only for those directly connected with the State Forests National Forest Holding, for, as Adam Loret, First Director of State Forests wrote, Polish forests are the property of the entire nation.
