Summary/Abstract: The issue of the article includes a spatial differentiation, analysis and evaluation of a multifacetedphenomenon, which is the financial condition. The aim of the article is the analysis of financialcondition and present its spatial variation on the example of urban macro-Eastern Polish Europe inthe years 2003, 2005, 2010, 2014. The rating using synthetic index conducted in the context of acomprehensive description of the examined phenomenon gives you a chance to fully identify theindividual situation. The selected variables in the study provide a picture of the capabilities andcapacity for development, to attract investors and residents. Cities perform important tasks bothin the social sphere and infrastructure. Since their financial condition will depend on the degree ofmeeting the needs of the local community, the value of synthetic measure has improved, worsenedor remained unchanged. Best city in 2003 is Rzeszow, Olsztyn, Sandomierz, Mielec in 2005 – Krosno,Rzeszow, Iława, Pulawy, 2010 – Rzeszow, Kielce, Sandomierz and 2014 – Rzeszow, Lublin,the weakest proved Sejny, Braniewo, Dynow, Chem. A city located in the province Podkarpackieand Lublin seems to be in the best situation and in the weakest – Podlasie and Warmia-Mazury.The index value ranged from 0.57–0.13 in 2003. 0.62–0.13 in 2005. 0.54–0.15 in 2010. 0.66–0.192014. the resulting measures are dependent on the amount and type of accepted variables to study,report on a comparative analysis between municipalities subjects, help to identify weaker areas andimproved functioning of the unit.
