Summary/Abstract: Fostering learner autonomy is very important in the process of learning foreign languages. The aim of this paper is to present specific problems with teaching German as a foreign language to Polish students with dyslexia. Dyslexic students commonly have problems with short-term and working memory, structure and sequencing. For this reason, they will have great difficulty in acquiring new vocabulary. The present paper reports the findings of a study investigating the use of vocabulary learning strategies by learners with and without dyslexia. The analysis of the data showed that the majority of students have no knowledge of vocabulary learning strategies.
