Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to identify Ruthenian appellative borrowings in the Polish language, derived from the basis of Polish surnames of Drohobych – one of the prominent cities of Polish-Ukrainian borderlands. Given the location of the city, it was home to some of the most visible linguistic changes, influences, and depositions in particular infiltration of Ruthenian appellatives into Polish language during XVII–XIX centuries.
