Summary/Abstract: This article is the second of a series dedicated to the semantic and functional features of the opposition specific ~ non-specific in the context of indefinite noun phrases. The first article summarized and systematized the various interpretations found in the foreign-language linguistic literature regarding this issue. The current article presents and discusses the same problems in the context of the study of the Bulgarian language. The contrastive analysis establishes that the use of the term non-specific, unlike the term specific, does not show full semantic and functional correspondence in the Bulgarian and foreign-language linguistic literature.
