Correcting Dictionary Errors

Summary/Abstract: Dictionaries are among the most authoritative sources regardinglanguage. As such, they should not contain any type of error. More than ten availabledictionaries were collected during a project – Romanian-English, English-Romanian lawdictionaries – and a few of them were checked regarding translation, grammatical, spelling,formatting, and typographical errors. The present article discusses the findings, offeringexamples as well. In the second part possible improving options are shown, the authorarguing for creating a term base, which may be incorporated into computer-assistedtranslation tools (CAT), such as SDL Trados Studio, OmegaT, or memoQ.
