Summary/Abstract: The obligation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its entities, Republika Srpska and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to develop a detailed set of measures to improve respect for and protection of human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) persons stems from the commitments undertaken by signing and ratifying international documents. The obligation arises from its membership in international organisations, especially in the Council of Europe, which makes it bound to enforce the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg and the recommendations which the Council of Europe refers to its member states.
