Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the Russian contemporary political and social documentary drama and the role of Verbatim in docudrama, and its theatre platform in Moscow – Teater.doc. It briefly describes the history of the aesthetics of documentary genre. The drama analyses reveal the political features in the docudramas September.doc and One Hour Eighteen Minutes by Yelena Gremina. It appears that Teater.doc plays a significant role in Russian contemporary political and social drama and theatre, and it fulfils substantial social function of the theatre.
