Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the representation of the motive of A. Liubchenko‟s and O. Dovzhenko‟s rebellion who resist the fixed standards of Soviet society to overcome their own loneliness and exit from the state of isolation. They both reject Friedrich Nietzsche‟s statement „God is dead‟ and find God or Dazhbog (A. Liubchenko) in themselves, proclaiming the religious existentialism idea of withdrawal from loneliness state by return to the original God. M. Berdyaev‟s existential ideas to overcome loneliness are revealed in rebellion of both artists. These are God seeking in oneself and return to the true spirit of art through catharsis (release spirit from captivity, receiving freedom and filling heart with love). They seek to reproduce themselves in creative work, realize ideas prohibited in the USSR (to work for the benefit of the Ukrainian people and Ukraine), and create their works not based on the principles of Soviet art. O. Dovzhenko and A. Liubchenko rebel against their own disease to live and fully implement planned. This is identical to Camus‟ existential views, according to which artists feel the inevitability of their own ends, but they continue to fight for the realization of their ideas, without escaping from life, but rebelling against reality. A. Liubchenko seeks to get rid of loneliness, immersed in relations with women because love is immortality, internal revival. Dovzhenko‟s love is love for Ukraine, and he seeks to immortalize it in his art works. O. Dovzhenko associates itself with Don Quixote. This image emphasizes the depth of his rebellion.
