Late medieval commemorative monuments from the Prut-Dniester space

Summary/Abstract: The territory between Nistru and Prut rivers has important witnesses of our medieval history and culture – grave stones and crosses. For the purposes of this article the author undertook some trips through localities from the north and south of the Republic of Moldova. Discovered monuments were divided in two main categories: 1) burial signs; and 2) memorial signs. Article show the short history of investigations of this kind of monuments and firstly lead in scientific use 12 grave stones and crosses carved in 1612-1817 years.
