Summary/Abstract: The paper analyzes names of geographical places that are located today within the Russian territory and have been noted in {Annales seu Cronicae incliti Regni Poloniae} by Jan Długosz. The names include: names of regions (terra Mosquitarum//Moschouia, terra Pskoviensis), towns (Brańsk, *Karaczew, Moskwa, Murom, Nowogród Wielki, Opoczka, Riazań, Rostów, Smoleńsk, Suzdal, *Toropiec, Włodzimierz, Woroniec), rivers (Dniepr, Don, Dźwina, Oka, Ugra, Wołga; also transborder ones – Połota, Soż, Worskła), forests (Wiaźma, Czarny Las), and a lake name (Biełooziero). Most of the names are related with the history of Kievan Rus', few names are connected with the Jagiellonian policy towards Muscovy. Długosz based his description on written sources and the event witnesses’ testimonies. When transformed from one language to the other, the names either preserve their original form or are phonetically and morphologically adapted, few of them undergo translation.
