Summary/Abstract: The digitization of language resources enables to explore natural languages in a previouslyunprecedented scale. In their research descriptive linguistic researcher as well as prescriptivelinguists make use of computer based language resources and modern software in the form oftext analyzers of various types (semantic, morphosyntactic). The article offers an analysis of thecurrent research situation on language use and language norm taking into consideration not onlynormative linguistic literature, but also extensive descriptive language studies to indicate thenecessity for synthesis of mutual reception and mutual consideration of research results of bothlinguistic research areas in the process of the actualizing language standard, as well as the needto clarify the application of quantitative criterion in development of standard prognosis relatedactivities focusing schematic and exemplary the genitive government of the polish verb.
