Summary/Abstract: This article presents the scientific research project aiming to learn the process of formation in Poland, consumer protection institutions after 1989. After initial recognition mechanism and the factors influencing consumer protection agencies in countries with developed market economy and a mature democracy, the author studies put forward the hypothesis that protection institutions Polish consumer were created and are formed by the action of interest groups. Questions posed in the project research and matched them test method to show that the project could fill a gap in the knowledge process of consumer protection in Poland after 1989.
