Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to present the oldest Polish edition of the morning television show “Coffe or tea?” as an example of particular relationship between the medium and the viewer and of the challenges faced by the producers of the live TV programming. The author discusses the origins of so- called breakfast TV together with the factors that had contributed to the modern form the show and to its place in the television network schedule. She also delineates the elements of the show and its basic formal solutions; the organizational and technical devices applied to create the illusion of direct TV/viewer; the problems arising during the course of production.
