Summary/Abstract: In her essay the author traces images that are stages of her life cycle. The thoughtful tone in which she writes illustrates how important her often sad memories are for her and to what extent these experiences have influenced her life. It is interesting to know how she perceives language. After her experience with two foreign languages: English and German, she particularly, as a writer of Croatian origin, appreciates language as the eye.
