Summary/Abstract: Archaeological research conducted in the last three decades at sites in the canyon of Olt River in Perşani Mountains (Augustin-Mateiaş) have confirmed the existence of two fortifications (Racoş-Piatra Detunată, Racoş-Cornu) and a civil settlement (Ormeniş-guys Ormenis), densely inhabited in the first period of the Iron Age. Among the many materials collected from these sites is highlighted a Hallstatt fibula discovered in 2008 in the fortification from Racoş-Piatra Detunată. The artifact is identical in size and weight with other two fibulae discovered in the civil settlement Tipia Ormenişului, located at a distance of less than 1 km. All three have perfect analogy in shape to the fibula from in Bădeni-Cluj, which is, however, larger. On a series of arguments supporting the existence in the area of Bronze workshops, the author does not ignore the possibility for all four fibulae (“Augustin-Bădeni” type) to have been worked in the civil settlement Tipia Ormenişului. Also, we presume that these objects belonged to chiefs/elite of the time and had a rich symbolic and religious significance. The fibula is dated between HaA2-B1.
