Summary/Abstract: The cave Izvorul Tăuşoarelor is the largest cave from the Rodna Mountains and the Oriental Carpathians Mountains. In this protected area there are approximately10,000 bats that are hibernating. This fact contributed to the cave being included in theNatura 2000 European network, which includes a great number of protected areas fromthe entire continent. The cave and the protected surface above it have, since 2016, a management plan approved by the Environment Minister. This management plan was realized upon detailed scientific studies.
