Summary/Abstract: ăsăud county. The very old and damaged notebook was given to the local priest by the discoverer, hoping that something might still be saved. We believe that the information contained in this notebook represents a historical source, and for this reason, we consider a two‑step scientific approach. The first step is to attempt to retrieve the information from this notebook. Its advanced state of decay allows only one reading, and with the use of a magnifying glass and a tweezer, the text could be read. Our intention is to save the information and provide it for possible research. The second step will be the topic of another material, so the information can be exploited. I have preserved the original texts as much as possible, including spelling and pagination errors. Our desire is to provide the future researcher with as much information as possible about the people who wrote the notes, but also about the events mentioned in this historical source. The period of notes corresponds to the major socio‑political and ecclesiastical events that influenced the life of the religious community in Luşca: the First World War, the Great Union of 1918, the loss of Northern Transylvania in 1940, the return of the Romanian administration in 1944, the progressive change of the democratic regime with the communist authoritarian regime (1944–1947), the forced transition from the Greek Catholicism in 1948 to Orthodoxy. The subject of our research is a notebook discovered in 1995 in the attic of a church in Năsăud county.
