ANCIENT HEROINES IN FILMOGRAPHY AND FEMINIST IDEAS

Summary/Abstract: This paper focuses on analyzes the relation between ancient historical figures that are found in Western European and American cinematography from the mid of XXth century and the feminist ideas. Attention will be focused on a single category of heroines, namely women leader presented through the cinematic portrait of two famous ancient queens − Cleopatra of Egypt and Zenobia of Palmyra.
