Summary/Abstract: The paper is focused on the theoretical basis and partial results of the research of the teachers’ attitudes and needs in relation to socially disadvantaged pupils in the Pardubice and Moravian-Silesian Regions in the Czech Republic. The survey was based on the assumption that the teacher’s attitude (consisting of cognitive, affective and behavioral components) may significantly affect teacher’s educational activities in relation to socially disadvantaged pupils. Presented data are based on use of a Likert type rating method. The paper briefly introduces the concepts of selected conceptual and theoretical basis. The focus of the paper is the interpretation and analysis of the obtained data in cultural and social context.
