Forgotten reality. About the (un) conscious social inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities in the State Agricultural Farms

Summary/Abstract: The article constitutes an attempt to rehabilitate State Agricultural Farms as a place of (un)conscious social inclusion, described from autoethnographic perspective. The author tried to show that in the State Agricultural Farms as the community, a special programme or regulation was unnecessary so that a disabled person felt a respected and full member of the community. In the text a State Agricultural Farm was confronted with the modern ideas of normalization or deinstitutionalisation, where the apparent duality between compromising/(same)compromising and normalization/deinstitutionalisation of displayed places does not provide a definite answer. The ambiguity puts us in suspense, that perhaps, at present none of the described places (as well as not described in the text) meets the criteria of: the fullest development, a sense of autonomy and freedom of the person with a disability.
